Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service are between you and Ascensa LLC, a Missouri limited liability company.

By purchasing a package, scheduling services, creating an account, or using Ascensa's services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If the student is a minor, the parent or legal guardian accepting these Terms is responsible for the student's participation, payments, and compliance with these Terms.

Eligibility and parental consent

Our services are designed for students preparing for the SAT and ACT, many of whom are under 18. If a student is a minor, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms, arrange services, and remain responsible for the account, payments, and the student's participation.

Services

Ascensa provides online SAT and ACT tutoring. We connect students with tutors and coordinate sessions. Specific package terms, session length, number of sessions, scheduling rules, and payment details are described at the time of purchase and in the applicable tutoring agreement.

Ascensa is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by College Board, the SAT, ACT, Inc., or any other testing organization. SAT and ACT are trademarks of their respective owners.

• Expedited Course: 6 tutoring hours for $450.
• Starter Package: 20 tutoring hours for $1,200.
• Advanced Package: 30 tutoring hours for $1,700.
• Complete Package: 40 tutoring hours for $2,200.

Accounts and information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when you contact us, enroll, purchase a package, or schedule sessions, and to keep that information current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.

Scheduling, cancellations, and missed sessions

Sessions are scheduled by agreement between the student or guardian and Ascensa or the assigned tutor. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, each session is approximately 60 minutes.

You must give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a scheduled session. A session rescheduled or cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice is not charged against your package hours. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or a session the student does not attend, is charged as if the session had taken place.

If a tutor needs to reschedule, Ascensa will offer a replacement session at no additional charge. Because tutoring is delivered online, the student is responsible for having a suitable device, reliable internet connection, and quiet space for sessions.

Ascensa does not record tutoring sessions by default. Sessions may be recorded only with prior consent from the parent or legal guardian and the tutor. Students and clients may not record sessions without prior consent.

Communications

You consent to receive service-related communications from Ascensa by email, phone, text message, scheduling platform, or other reasonable communication channels. These communications may include scheduling, payment, homework, progress, account, and service updates. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications, but service-related communications may still be necessary to provide tutoring services.

Communications between tutors and students should relate to tutoring, scheduling, assignments, test preparation, and academic support. Parents or legal guardians may request to be included on communications involving minor students. Ascensa may limit or end services if communications or conduct become inappropriate, abusive, unsafe, or unrelated to the tutoring relationship.

Package usage periods

Package hours must be used within the following usage periods unless Ascensa agrees in writing to extend the period:

• Expedited Course: 2 months from enrollment.
• Starter Package: 4 months from enrollment.
• Advanced Package: 6 months from enrollment.
• Complete Package: 12 months from enrollment.

Hours not used within the applicable usage period expire and are forfeited, and no refund is provided for expired hours except where required by law.

Payment and refunds

Fees, billing schedules, and accepted payment methods are described at the time of purchase. Unless a written payment plan is agreed in advance, the package fee is due in full at enrollment and before the first session is scheduled. Payments are processed through a third-party payment provider.

• If you cancel before the first session takes place, you will receive a full refund of the package fee, less any non-refundable third-party processing fees actually incurred.
• If you cancel after the first session, you will receive a refund equal to the number of unused hours multiplied by the effective hourly rate for your package, less an administrative fee. The administrative fee is calculated as 10% of the refund otherwise due, not 10% of the original package price.
• Hours already used, missed with less than 24 hours' notice, no-showed, or expired are not refundable.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method within a reasonable time.

If you dispute a payment through your bank, card issuer, or payment provider, Ascensa may suspend services while the dispute is pending. This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable law.

Score improvement and Complete Package guarantee

We work to help students improve, but we do not promise any specific score or outcome. Results depend on many factors, including starting point, preparation timeline, session attendance, completion of assigned practice, test-day performance, and other factors outside any tutor's control.

The 150+ Point SAT Score Increase Guarantee applies only to eligible students enrolled in the Complete Package. It applies to SAT total-score improvement only and does not apply to the ACT or to any individual section score unless ACT-specific guarantee terms are separately provided in writing.

• The student must begin with an official SAT score or Ascensa-approved proctored diagnostic SAT score below 1300 before the first tutoring session.
• The student must complete the full 40-hour Complete Package within 12 months.
• The student must complete all assigned homework and required practice tests.
• The student must attend sessions consistently and follow the recommended timeline.
• The student must take an official SAT within 90 days after completing the package.

If an eligible student completes those requirements but does not improve by at least 150 points over the qualifying baseline score, Ascensa will provide 10 additional one-on-one tutoring sessions at no additional cost. To claim the guarantee, the client must email hello@ascensaedu.com within 30 days after the official qualifying SAT score is released and provide the required score reports and supporting documentation.

Required documentation may include the qualifying baseline score report, official SAT score report, attendance records, assigned homework records, completed practice test records, and other information reasonably needed to verify eligibility.

Student responsibilities

• Attend scheduled sessions on time.
• Complete assigned practice when possible.
• Come prepared with questions and materials.
• Communicate scheduling conflicts in advance.
• Treat tutors and staff with respect.

Acceptable use

• Do not misuse, copy, or redistribute our materials except as permitted.
• Do not record sessions without consent.
• Do not harass, abuse, or harm tutors, staff, or other users.
• Do not interfere with the operation or security of the website.
• Do not use the services for any unlawful purpose.

Tutors

Tutors provide instruction based on their training and judgment. While we work to match students with qualified tutors, we do not guarantee that any particular tutor will be available for the duration of a package, and we may substitute tutors when needed.

Intellectual property

The content, materials, lesson plans, practice content, and resources we provide are owned by Ascensa or our licensors and are provided for the personal, non-commercial use of enrolled students. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, share, or create derivative works from our materials without permission.

Privacy

Ascensa handles personal information according to our separate Privacy Policy. For a minor student, the parent or legal guardian consents to Ascensa's collection and use of the student's information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will produce any particular result. This section does not limit the Complete Package guarantee described above.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascensa and its owners, members, employees, contractors, and tutors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the services will not exceed the amount you paid to Ascensa for the services giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ascensa and its owners, members, employees, contractors, and tutors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the services or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by Ascensa's own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Termination

We may suspend or end services, with or without notice, for non-payment, violation of these Terms, abusive or unlawful conduct, or if we determine that continuing services is not appropriate. You may stop using the services at any time. Refunds, if any, are governed by the refund terms above and the applicable tutoring agreement.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis County, Missouri, unless otherwise required by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date above. Continued use of the services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
